This Privacy Policy explains how Technotery Ltd, trading as PropertyValue.mu ("PropertyValue.mu", "we", "us" or "our"), collects and processes personal data when you use our website, Property Intelligence Reports, accounts, Property Directory, Enterprise portal, advisory services, communications and related services.
We are the controller for the processing described in this Policy, except where an Enterprise agreement identifies another controller or where we act only on a client's documented instructions as processor.
Controller details: Technotery Ltd, BRN C12345678, registered office 23 Cybercity, Ebene, Mauritius, email privacy@propertyvalue.mu, telephone +230 460 0000. Data-protection contact: DPO, dpo@propertyvalue.mu.
This Policy applies to website visitors, report purchasers, account holders, property owners, buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants, listing providers, agents, Enterprise users, advisory clients and persons who communicate with us.
A separate privacy notice or contract may apply to employees, job applicants, certified valuation instructions or Enterprise processing performed on behalf of a client.
We collect data directly from you, from authorised users or organisations, through website and application usage, from uploaded documents, from payment and technology providers, from public or licensed property sources, and from professional or Enterprise clients.
Where property or contact information relates to another person, the person providing it must have authority and a lawful basis to do so.
PropertyValue.mu uses automated rules, statistical models and AI-supported processes to analyse property characteristics, location and market evidence. The Smart Report is intended to provide property intelligence and does not, by itself, approve or refuse credit, insurance, a sale or another legal transaction.
We may use automated processing to select comparable evidence, estimate a range, calculate confidence, detect anomalies, prevent fraud and generate explanatory text. Material outputs should be traceable to structured data and model rules.
Enterprise clients must not use a PropertyValue.mu output as the sole basis for a decision producing legal or similarly significant effects on an individual unless the use is separately agreed, independently validated, lawful and includes appropriate human review and rights procedures.
You may contact us to request information about relevant automated processing and, where applicable, exercise rights relating to solely automated decisions.
Some providers may process or store personal data outside Mauritius. We will identify transfer destinations, assess the transfer, use appropriate contractual and technical safeguards, and obtain authorisation or rely on another lawful condition where required by the Data Protection Act 2017.
The privacy notice should name or categorise foreign processors and provide a method for requesting information about the safeguards used.
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the stated purpose, legal obligations, dispute resolution, model audit, fraud prevention and legitimate business records.
The detailed retention schedule appears in Appendix A. Retention periods must be confirmed against tax, accounting, regulatory, professional-indemnity and Enterprise contract requirements. Where possible, data will be deleted or irreversibly anonymised after the applicable period.
We use proportionate technical and organisational measures, which may include encryption, access controls, least-privilege permissions, multi-factor authentication, audit logs, backups, vulnerability management, secure development practices, processor contracts and incident-response procedures.
No online system can be guaranteed completely secure. Users must protect their credentials and notify us promptly of suspected misuse.
We will investigate personal-data incidents and notify the Data Protection Commissioner without undue delay and, where feasible, within 72 hours after becoming aware of a notifiable breach. Where a breach is likely to result in a high risk to an individual, we will also communicate with affected individuals as required by law.
Marketing communications will identify the sender and provide a practical unsubscribe method. We will record objections and suppression preferences. Withdrawing from marketing does not prevent service, security or legal communications.
Consent for marketing must be separate from acceptance of the Terms and must not use pre-ticked boxes.
Necessary cookies may be used to operate accounts, security, checkout and user preferences. Analytics, advertising or other non-essential cookies should be activated only in accordance with the consent approach described in the Cookie Policy.
Users must be able to reject non-essential cookies as easily as they accept them and later change their preferences.
The services are intended for persons aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly invite children to purchase reports, create property listings or enter Enterprise contracts.
Where personal data of a person below 16 is processed and consent is the applicable basis, verified consent of a parent or guardian must be obtained as required by law.
Links to notaries, agents, lenders, mapping providers or other third parties are provided for convenience. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices, and PropertyValue.mu is not responsible for their independent processing.
We may update this Policy to reflect service, legal or processing changes. Material changes will be highlighted and, where necessary, notified through the account or email.
Questions and rights requests should be sent to privacy@propertyvalue.mu. Complaints may also be made to the Data Protection Office of Mauritius.
